An acclaimed perfumer. A personal interpretation of Lake Como.
In 2008 Bertrand Duchaufour created LARIUS’s signature fragrance, inspired by Lake Como. Bertrand drew inspiration from the natural flora of the lake’s gardens, capturing the atmosphere of an afternoon beside a lakeside villa.
His creations include fragrances for L’Artisan Parfumeur, Sartorial for Penhaligon’s, and Colonia Assoluta for Acqua di Parma, co-created with Jean-Claude Ellena. His work also includes fragrances for Christian Dior, Givenchy and Comme des Garçons.

OUR STORY
LARIUS takes its name from the ancient Latin name for Lake Como. Its story reaches back to Roman times, when Julius Caesar established a colony in Como in 59 BC. For founder Velia Longo, the lake is deeply personal: villa gardens, warm evenings and green mountains reflected in the water.
At the heart of the fragrance is perfumer Bertrand Duchaufour. Inspired by the natural flora of the lake’s gardens, he translated its atmosphere into scent.
